Some of Cornwall’s most popular musical acts will be performing from their homes and gardens this weekend as Parklive goes virtual.

Parklive will provide a platform for Cornwall-based performers in what will become a unique monthly virtual event.

A fund raiser will run alongside the event providing a chance for people to donate to The Women’s Centre Cornwall via the GoFundMe page Parklive Stands Against Violence.

The event, on Sunday (April 26), will feature some of Cornwall’s most popular acts, including 3 Daft Monkeys.

Parklife producer, Simon Neild, said: “Music can help us keep sane at difficult times. There are so many talented performers out there doing such amazing work. We decided that the show must go on.”

Ivor Richards, technical magician in chief for Parklive, added: “We will stream Facebook performances on to our YouTube channel, all coordinated from my home. A technical challenge which I am happy to take on.”

Parklive will be broadcast on Parklive Youtube Channel from 12 noon to 6pm, featuring: 3 Daft Monkeys; Sam Bradbury; Charlie Wingfield; Chris Hutchins; Danio; James Dixon; Val Baker; Charlie Louise;  Minti Hindu; Helm DeVegas and  Mog Jones

The event is being sponsored by Falmouth Town Council, Amata (Falmouth University), Jubilee Wharf, Falmouth Tyres and A1 Appliances.

Parklive is organised by Source FM 96.1, the community radio station for Falmouth and Penryn.
