Businesses in Cornwall have taken part in Superfast Business Cornwall’s first Digital Technology Workshop, demonstrating how they can harness technology to grow their business.
The workshop, held at Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club, was the first of many similar sessions which will be run across the Duchy from the new Superfast Business Cornwall service that launched in July.
The service, which is being delivered by Peninsula Enterprise, is for eligible SMEs based in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and will run through to March 2019.
Workshop facilitator, Josh Hoole, said: “The half-day session is delivered in a jargon free, easy to understand way and gives eligible businesses in Cornwall the opportunity to access the latest thinking and best practice around the use of technology for business growth.
“The attendees today were able to develop a digital action plan to help inform their ongoing digital strategy.”
Topics businesses on the workshop covered included how to sell more to their customers through Customer Relationship Management (CRM), the impact of mobile technology for working anywhere anytime and what the Cloud is and how it can be used to grow and develop a business.
Sebeail Fowell – Superfast Business Cornwall programme and partnership manager at Peninsula Enterprise, added: “It was great to see Cornish business so engaged with the opportunities that digital technology can offer.
This is a great way for ambitious businesses with growth potential to identify how they can use technology to implement change that can bring both immediate and long term gains, from increasing productivity through flexible working to reaching new markets through developing new products and services.”
