England rugby world cup winner and acting Cornish Pirates CEO, Josh Lewsey, has been confirmed as the final keynote speaker at next month’s Cornwall Business Fair.
The former England player will make a special appearance at the business-to-business event taking place on Wednesday May 15, at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre.
Lewsey won 55 caps for England before retiring from international rugby in December 2008, later embarking on a successful career in the City.
Lewsey will be speaking to attendees about his diversification in recent years into a more business mindset, and how he hopes to use this knowledge to help the Cornish Pirates build a prosperous future.
Dynamic new elements have been introduced to this year’s fair as part of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s 25th anniversary celebrations. Chief executive, Kim Conchie, said: “Josh’s career has certainly diversified in the last five years, showcasing his business knowledge and passion for rugby off the pitch.
“We are excited that a local hero is able to join us for such a pivotal event in Cornwall Business week, bringing together people from all corners to celebrate our diverse county.”
The Fair forms part of the Cornwall Business Week celebrations, with the Cornwall Business Awards taking place the following evening, rounding off the week’s festivities.
This year’s Business Fair is hosted by Cornwall Chamber of Commerce and supported by ERDF Convergence-funded Outset Cornwall, Export Cornwall and The Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Truro.
