Mylor-based boatbuilder, Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding, has sold its first Duchy Motor Launch in Australia.
The company has extended its global reach yet further by appointing Davis Marine Brokerage as its exclusive dealer in Australia, which has brokered the sale of a Duchy 35 Motor Launch.
Duchy Motor Launches combine “the classical lines of the gentleman’s launch of generations past with polished styling and modern luxury”.
Cockwells is currently in the process of customising the vessel specifically for Antipodean adventures, with the continent’s climate and seafaring conditions in mind. This first model to be sold in Australia will be berthed at Roseville Bridge Marina, where Davis Marine Brokerage is based, within Sydney’s iconic harbour.
“Our Duchy Motor Launches resonate with the Australian market because they are the ultimate in British handcrafted quality and can be customised specifically to cater for its climate and conditions,” said founder and MD, Dave Cockwell.
“For example, instead of finishing with timber, which is challenging to preserve in intense sunshine, we can replace it with fibreglass, aluminium and glass, with Flexiteek decking and highlights, to minimise maintenance, maximise pleasure and maintain aesthetic.”
