The transition period covering the UK’s exit from the EU ends on December 31 and while this has been known for some time, there are fears that Cornish businesses may not be doing enough to prepare for the changes ahead.

Business coaching programme Oxford Innovation Cornwall is encouraging businesses to use this time wisely and ensure they are not just aware of changes to legislation but have also done everything necessary to ensure they are compliant.

A huge number of businesses will be affected as new rules come into effect in the new year, covering a wide range of areas including importing and exporting, providing services to EU markets and how to place goods on the EU market – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

In addition to the support provided by the Government, coaches from Oxford Innovation Cornwall are offering their time and support to work with business owners to help them identify and implement necessary changes.

Businesses can book an initial hour-long online coaching session with Oxford Innovation Cornwall and, subsequently, eligible businesses will be able to take advantage of its coaching package, which includes ongoing one-to-one coaching with industry experts, access to industry-leading GROWTHmapper diagnostic tools, and Spotlight Sessions – a series of structured, interactive discussions around specific areas, offering a deep dive into business needs and overcoming barriers to progression.

Oxford Innovation has been delivering coaching programmes to businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for more than ten years, helping thousands of businesses achieve their goals along the way.

The Oxford Innovation Cornwall programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, meaning support is available at no cost to eligible businesses.
