New games studio aiming high

A new games development studio has been set up in Cornwall.

Falmouth-based Round Table Games Studio is the brainchild of Rich Barham, who has worked for some of the biggest names in the gaming industry in both the US and Europe, and business partner Tanya Krzywinska, who is director of Falmouth University’s games academy.

He said: “We’re currently developing a game with a mixed team of experienced professionals and some of the brightest talent in the region.

“We’re aiming high, seeking to bridge the gap between the high end AAA games made by the very big publishers and the more home-grown indie-studios that have popped up as the industry has evolved.

“In the longer term, we’re aiming to support other up and coming studios with publishing services and expertise, as well a physical hub providing incubation and a sense of community.

“Games is a high growth tech sector, with the potential to create a lot of well-paid jobs.  I can’t think of a better place to make a home for this industry than in a place of natural beauty, where we’re looking to create these types of jobs, and where digital creatives want to live, work and settle down.”
