A former teacher from Truro launched her second business last weekend, at the Penventon Park Hotel Wedding Fayre.
According to Cornish wedding magazine WED, this year’s Royal Wedding sparked an upturn on the marriage circuit, with bride-to-be numbers hitting an all-time high.
Vicky Johnstone’s Little Busy Box business specialises in a range of children’s wedding favours, designed to keep them entertained throughout the reception.
Johnstone is one of an increasing number of women in Cornwall demonstrating the ability to be a ‘mumpreneur’ –an entrepreneur and a mother at the same time.
The Little Busy Box follows the success of Johnstone’s first company – Postbox Cards & Parties which specialises in children’s party essentials, cards and invites.
She commented: “I am so excited about the launch of Little Busy Box. In preparation for this launch I have been working with a business coach at Oxford Innovation and with their help we have put in place a strategy to help us grow the business.
“I found it particularly helpful being part of an all-female director peer group where I met other like-minded business women willing to help each other effectively becoming a team.”
