The secrets behind the toned physiques of Madonna and Gwen Stefani are being brought to Truro and St Austell through a new business launching in Cornwall.

Life coach and trained massage therapist Karen Marston has launched Shape Studios, a designated studio which uses special machines to help members tone up, improve flexibility and improve cardiovascular health amongst other benefits.

The technology, called whole body vibration plate therapy, is based on 40 years of research and can be used by people of all ages and a range of health issues.

Shape Studios is the first in both Truro and St Austell to be entirely dedicated to the therapy, with eight FLABeLOS machines in place.

Marston said: “We’re really excited to be offering the first dedicated studio here and we’ve been receiving some great feedback from people who are really interested in the machines.”

Amongst celebrity fans of the therapy are models Heidi Klum and Melanie Sykes, singers Madonna and Gwen Stefani as well as professional sports people.

With her background in life coaching, Marston already has plans to extend the business by supporting people to improve their self-esteem and confidence through the therapy.

She said: “There are so many different people who would benefit from these machines, from new mums to brides-to-be to people later in life. We’re welcoming everyone in to come and give it a try.”
