A new business venture has been launched to promote the Cornish food and drink sector.
Cornwall Food and Drink is the vision of founders Ruth Huxley and Alex Harris, who have recently become known for their joint organising of the popular Cornwall Food and Drink Festival.
For the past two years the pair have been lobbying behind the scenes for a structured, professional food and drink resource for Cornwall.
“We are directly accountable to the businesses we serve,” Harris explained, “so it is essential that we provide value-for-money services that businesses really want.
“It’s a new business model, taking this type of work beyond dependence on public funding but, in doing so, making it much more vibrant. This is a million miles away from the type of organisation that achieves ‘outputs’ by ticking boxes while sitting on comfy salary packages.”
For businesses interested in finding out more, the company is holding an open day at its Bissoe offices on November 2.
