Two partners at employee-owned law firm, Stephens Scown LLP, have received the highest ranking and national recognition in the latest edition of Chambers and Partners’ guide to Private Wealth Law.

Following an extensive annual research programme, the Chambers High Net Worth Guide ranks the leading and most dedicated lawyers and law firms for international private wealth based on feedback from clients and other specialist industry professionals.

Private client partners Phil Reed and Graham Murdoch retained their Band 1 status as notable practitioners in the 2022 Guide, both renowned for their high level of technical expertise and thorough approach to supporting their clients.

The only Band 1 ranked law firm for Private Wealth Law in Cornwall and one of only two Band 2 ranked firms in Private Wealth Law for Exeter and surrounds, the guide reports: “Stephens Scown provides a broad private wealth law practice with a strong private client and inheritance and trust disputes team.

“They are engaged in complex high-value estate planning and administration as well as trust planning. They work with High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs} and for rural and other landed estates.”

Stephens Scown’s managing partner, Richard Baker, said: “Our inheritance and trust disputes and private client specialists work in very complex areas of law. Their legal expertise is matched by their efforts to support clients during incredibly stressful and emotional situations. The recognition by Chambers and Partners is particularly rewarding because it is based on feedback from clients.”
