Duchy Defibrillators has installed its 200th monitored public access defibrillator.

Their monitored cabinets allow for real time data on the cabinet and defibrillator status’ to be accessed via an online system, and the company ensures the defibrillator is registered and available to the ambulance service as well as replacing the pads upon use and expiry dates.

It also assists in the return of a deployed defibrillator with devices usually relisted as available to the ambulance service within a few hours.

The 200th cabinet was installed in the heart of Truro city centre, located on the front of Vanilla bar and nightclub. This cabinet and defibrillator has been provided to the city by the Truro Street Pastors and allows the city to have access to a defibrillator that is available outside of local businesses opening hours.

Duchy Defibrillators MD, Alan Odgers, said: “We are delighted to have been able to work alongside the Truro Street Pastors to have this device in the city. We are aware of a number of devices within local shops, but the access of these is obviously during their opening hours, so this cabinet being available to the public 24/7 is a big benefit to the area.

“We are very grateful to Vanilla for hosting this cabinet as well.”
