A Feock pub has reported a record-breaking reopening week.

The Punchbowl and Ladle served over 900 pints of draught beer, 106 bottles of wine and 897 main meals.

It has also welcomed a new executive chef, Tom Waller, who has given the menu a shakeup to draw on the best of British and Cornish cuisine.

Proprietor Rachael Spring said: “Following a tricky period for hospitality, reopening has been an exciting period for all of us and it goes without saying that we loved welcoming back local residents and visitors alike.

“Our opening week was the best we’ve had since working with at the pub and Tom is a great addition to the team – his extensive experience across a number of the UK’s best restaurants is a real asset to us and is part of our wider plan to give The Punchbowl and Ladle the new lease of life that it deserves.”

Newly-appointed executive chef Waller has held positions at some of the best kitchens across the UK, notably Michelin-starred Bohemia Bar & Restaurant in Jersey. Most recently, he was the head chef of The Kingham Plough in Oxfordshire.
