Bishop Fleming has welcomed its next fleet of apprentices.

Thirty-five university graduates and nine school leavers join the chartered accountancy firm’s new apprenticeship programme this month.

Bishop Fleming says the investment in trainees supports its continued growth. The 2020 intake sees a 29% increase compared to 2019. The firm has grown overall by 13% in the last three years and has seen continued growth for the past ten years.

The new intake will work across the firms seven offices and across a variety of sectors including tax, audit, restructuring and corporate business services. They will receive significant support as they kickstart their careers and undertake training programmes to gain their accountancy qualifications.

All trainees will pursue qualifications from the Institution of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Anna Averis, people director for Bishop Fleming, said: “I am delighted that as a firm we have recruited a record breaking number of trainees, and even more so that we are able to get them started with the firm this September, despite challenges met by the coronavirus pandemic.

“It demonstrates our continued growth and commitment to our people, in creating the most rewarding working environment. We have adapted our working environment to ensure social distancing rules are in place, as well providing each trainee with the support and equipment needed to work from the office and remotely, enabling them to receive continued training, coaching and development in all circumstances.

“We welcome them all to Bishop Fleming and look forward to supporting them reach their full potential.”
