A leading Cornish law firm has promoted seven high-fliers in its Cornish offices, while continuing to help clients navigate the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

Stephens Scown LLP’s promotions in Cornwall include three promotions to partner. The new partners are James Burrows a contentious probate specialist, Ben Jones an expert in property litigation and Ben Wheeler from the real estate team, who works with developer clients.

The firm has also made two promotions to senior associate. They are Tim Lane from the corporate team and Helen Thomas from the dispute resolution team.

Kate Westlake from the real estate team and Guy Michell, a construction specialist in the dispute resolution team, have been promoted to associate.

Richard Baker, Stephens Scown’s managing partner, said: “One of the most rewarding parts of my job as managing partner is ensuring there are opportunities for people to develop their careers and flourish at Stephens Scown.

“Our newly-promoted colleagues are all experts in their different fields, and all share a focus on delivering the very best results for their clients. They will all play a significant role in helping Stephens Scown support clients through the challenges they are facing due to the coronavirus pandemic. Although this is an unsettling time for many businesses, it is great to be able to take a moment to celebrate the achievement of these leaders of tomorrow.”

The seven promotions in Cornwall are part of a promotion round of 11 colleagues across Stephens Scown’s three offices in Devon and Cornwall.
