The Great Cornish Food Store in Truro is starting a home-delivery service today (March 20) to help customers continue to receive their favourite Cornish produce through the current Covid-19 pandemic.

The delivery service will be offered initially to customers within a ten-mile radius of the store, taking in addresses from Penryn and St Agnes, and from Sticker to Ruan High Lanes on the Roseland, for example.

Orders of more than £30 which are received by 4pm every day will be delivered the following day. Rather than supplying store cupboard staples that are available in the usual supermarkets across Cornwall, available groceries include a wide choice of quality meats, local fresh fish, Cornish cheeses and other dairy produce, plus local wines and spirits from across Cornwall. Fresh bread, veg, eggs and chef-made ready-made meals will also be available to purchase.

“We have an important role to play in the community – not just amongst our loyal customer base, but also for our local Cornish suppliers,” said store owner, Ruth Huxley.

“These are challenging times for everyone, and it’s vital we all work together to support local businesses and our local community, especially those isolated and vulnerable. Our delivery service will enable us to continue to provide our comprehensive range of quality food and drink from around the county as well as continue to support our local economy in Cornwall, which is critical at this time.”

Orders can be taken over the telephone by calling the dedicated order line 01872 306063 or order forms can be downloaded from the website and emailed to store@greatcornishfood.co.uk. Delivery charges will be a standard £5 on orders of more than £30 (minimum), free on orders of more than £100.
