With Cornwall’s population getting older as average life expectancy continues to rise, two independent financial advisers have completed training allowing them deal with the challenges their clients will face.

Lynne Williams and Donna Hansen, who are IFAs at Truro-based Worldwide Financial Planning, have both passed and completed the Long Term Care exam arranged by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

The CF8 Long Term Care exam is two hours and also requires 60 hours studying time before sitting.

Hansen said: “Gaining this qualification means we can advise clients and their families as to what their options are at a time when they may be making difficult decisions.

“That could be that their parents have to move from the family home into long-term care.

“There are a number of solutions available and are often needed to suit each individual family, so this qualification means that we are best placed to provide the necessary advice.”
