The team of 14 and 15-year olds behind Rocky & Co is taking part in the national Young Enterprise (YE) programme and joined 17 other teams from across Cornwall to showcase  a creative kit for children – Rock Monsters – at the fair on Lemon Quay, Truro.

As well as almost selling out of all its stock, Rocky & Co was presented three awards from the Young Enterprise judges and Mayor of Truro for: Most Innovative Product, Best Marketing and Promotion and Best Press Release.

Commenting on the awards, YE manager, Lucie Robinson, said: “This was the biggest Young Enterprise trade fair we have ever had in Cornwall and there were 18 companies fighting for awards.

“Rocky & Co were one of the stronger teams on the day. It was clearly evident that the group of Year 10 students had been working exceptionally hard on their product and all the judges were very impressed. I am looking forward to seeing how the company has developed at the spring trade fair.”

The team, which has been mentored and advised by Philippa Hill from Wild Card PR and Dan Sampson from The Royal Bank of Scotland, is now focusing on the next stage of the Cornwall Young Enterprise challenge ahead of the County Innovation Awards in April.
