The three Cornwall Innovation Centres have been shortlisted in the 2014 Times Higher Education Awards.

The Cornwall Innovation programme, which is managed by Plymouth University on behalf of Cornwall Council, is a contender in the Outstanding Contribution to Local Community category.

Cornwall Innovation is centred around three hubs – the Pool Innovation Centre, the Tremough Innovation Centre at Penryn, and the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre, on the Cornwall NHS Hospitals Trust site in Truro – which were built with £45 million of European funding.

Together they are home to dozens of small firms and by providing relevant support and expertise, the three centres have enabled their clients to create a total of 216 jobs, safeguard a further 76 and grow revenues by more than £9.3 million.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held in London on November 27.
