Penhallow-based Healey’s has created a new apple juice-based energy drink to add to its range of ciders and juices.

Cornish Bite is made from 25% apple juice and is claimed to be the only drink of its kind to include natural Cornish sea salt harvested from “grade A waters” off the Cornish coast.

Commercial director, Joe Healey, said: “We are really excited to launch Cornish Bite which is very different to anything that’s currently available on the market.

“It was important to us that the drink still came with the authentic Healey’s taste, which is why Cornish Bite contains a far higher percentage of fruit juice than mass market energy drinks.

“We have also made sure it is packed full of minerals by using Cornish sea salt, which is relatively low in sodium, and high in naturally-occurring minerals to help maintain a healthy balance of electrolytes in the body.”

Cornish Bite will initially be available in 250ml cans from independent retailers and at Tesco stores in Devon and Cornwall.
