An architect with Cornish specialist home design and build company, Ecohouse, has successfully completed his professional exams.

Simon Riggs, who has been employed by the company for almost a year, has passed his Part 3 professional training, the Certificate in Architectural Professional Practice, at the University of Plymouth.

This makes him eligible for registration under the Architects Registration Act 1997 and chartered membership of Royal Institute of British Architects.

Ecohouse director Robin van der Bij said: “Simon has worked hard to gain his professional qualification alongside his responsibilities for Ecohouse. We are really proud of what he has achieved.

“It is a great career milestone for him personally, and for Ecohouse to be associated with an organisation like RIBA is very important. It gives clients confidence as well as building on our brand values of quality and professionalism.”

Riggs is employed through the Unlocking Cornish Potential Scheme, which part funded his professional training.
