The Lawyer describes Haywood, who is a member of the firm’s dispute resolution team, as a “textbook example of how someone can transform their own career with a bit of determination”.
Now aged 27, Haywood joined Follett Stock when in her teens, having dropped out of drama school. She qualified as a solicitor last year, after having achieved the second highest mark in her year in the Legal Practice Course, gaining the Tutors’ Prize for Achievement from UWE Bristol.
She said: “I cannot believe it. When I arrived in London for the interview my fellow interviewees were from internationally renowned firms such as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer; Ashursts; Allen & Ovary; Lovells & Linklaters. To get this recognition coming from a relatively small practice in Cornwall is really exciting.”
