On behalf of the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), property consultants Alder King and Start & Co have sold Agriculture House at Barrack Lane in Truro, to a private individual.
Alder King sold the property by an informal tender. Â The property consisted of a large detached building, which was formerly used as offices, various modern single storey extensions in gardens with a substantial car park. Â In total the site extends to 0.78 acres.
According to Tim Smart, head of agency at Alder King, the property could be suitable for residential development. Smart commented: “Agriculture House is in an established residential area, to the south east of Truro city, a short walk from Lemon Quay and the city centre.  The surrounding area consists of a mix of period and modern residential housing with a limited amount of commercial/office space.  It would certainly not be out of place if the purchaser decided to redevelop the site into housing.”
Alder King and Start & Co represented the NFU. The purchaser was unrepresented.
