A St Austell-based company has installed a new webcam overlooking the bay in a bid to help promote the town around the world.

St Austell Conference Centre, which is part of the St Austell Printing Company (SAPC), has installed the webcam at its purpose-built premises at Carclaze. The camera provides a 24-hour HD live stream taking in the town and views across St Austell Bay.

Operations manager, Beth Mayman, said: “So many people comment on how stunning the views are from our conferencing and event suites. Because we’re up high, on a clear day it’s possible to see Brown Willy and Bodmin Moor to the east and the satellite dishes of Goonhilly to the west.

“It’s a privilege to work in an environment where we have such amazing views every day, so we thought we should share them so that everyone can view St Austell Bay whenever they like. We always talk about how proud we are of St Austell. Sometimes it feels like the beauty of the bay gets overlooked.”.”

St Austell Conference Centre offers five conference and meeting rooms and can accommodate events of up-to 100 people. Part of St Austell Printing Company, it sits alongside the purpose-built sustainable factory and business park which boasts tenants including Coodes Solicitors and Aspire and Peninsula Learning Trusts.
