Local law firm Coodes Solicitors is making a historic move today (May 9) when it transfers its St Austell office from the town centre to a purpose built office at St Austell Business Park.

Coodes has outgrown its Market Street premises and will now offer free parking, easier access, and a more spacious and modern environment for its clients and staff.

The move follows Coodes setting up two new offices in Falmouth and St Ives over the last year, as well as a number of new appointments across the firm’s growing business and private client teams.

Coodes has maintained a local presence in St Austell since it was established in 1747. Now operating a network of offices across Cornwall and Devon, the firm commissioned one of St Austell’s most iconic buildings–the ‘Red Bank’–which it moved into in 1898, and has been in the Market Street office since 1990.

30 staff will move into the new office, which also has room to accommodate Coodes’ expanding workforce.

CEO, Gerard Hickie, said: “This is an historic moment for Coodes, as St Austell is where our story began more than 250 years ago. The move represents a considerable investment in and commitment to St Austell and our excellent staff.

“We know that many of our clients, particularly those with mobility problems, found it difficult to get to our existing town centre premises.

“With free parking and easy access, our new offices have been designed to the highest accessibility and environmental standards and will provide a high quality experience for our customers and a superb working environment.

“They will also enable us to develop our services, to make better and more effective use of modern technology and meet our growth aspirations.”
