The new training and conference venue at the £6.2M St Austell Business Park has been transformed into part of a film set for a romantic love story.

The Sea View Conference Suite at SAPC House was turned into the home of the fictional Southern Architectural Planning Consultants.

The landmark building will appear on German television in 2014 in ‘Occupied Hearts’ – an adaptation of a Rosamunde Pilcher novel.

St Austell Business Park’s conference and events manager, Beth Mayman, said: “It was really exciting to play host to the film company for this adaptation of Rosamunde Pilcher’s work and see the process.

“The location manager visited in the summer and was wowed by the offices and the views.

“The team then spent a couple of days transforming our top floor offices before filming began.

“We even had to produce some posters for them to use as part of the décor.

“Everyone is looking forward to receiving a copy of the DVD when the film is finished and spotting the office.”

The film crew also took over St Austell Printing Company’s reception and used two members of the team, Becky Dibb and Ruby Waterfield, as extras for a scene.

Over 70 films based on Pilcher’s novels has been shot in Cornwall since 1993, with each one gaining an average of six million viewers.
