Representatives from more than 40 local businesses have marked Eden’s new Key Supplier Initiative with an evening showcasing the project’s existing partnerships and its plans for the future.

The Eden Project spends more than £12 million every year on products and services, many of which are supplied by businesses based in Cornwall and the south west.

A total of 101 companies have been identified by Eden’s procurement team as key suppliers providing a high level of service and quality, and a commitment to waste efficiency and maximising sustainable practise.

The organisations were invited to attend the celebratory evening where they received special certificates recognising their work and heard how Eden plans to build on these relationships to unlock new opportunities, maintain a strong buying ethos and build the most sustainable supply chain possible.

Eden’s procurement director Andrew Holden commented: “At Eden we are privileged to have the best suppliers in Cornwall and the south west as our partners. The diversity is staggering, everything from local butchers, farmers and growers through to timber merchants, builders and constructors.”

  1. Yes and I was actully responsible for co-ordinating their suppliers relationships for the first 5 years and one of their most important values was to support and help small local suppliers grow to enable them to keep up with their visitor numbers and success.
