The Newham Business Improvement District (BID) has appointed Newquay-based CDA Solutions to install hi tech CCTV cameras across the Newham & The Port of Truro Area.
Over 24 cameras are included in the project, covering the whole area of Newham, proving vulnerable areas with coverage, monitoring activity as well as acting as a deterrent.
As part of the development of the BID, it was identified that Newham experiences anti-social behavior issues as well as malicious damage to property and illegal dumping.
Newham BID Manager, Alison Elvey, explained: “This is one of the primary capital projects for the BID which we hope to roll out over the next 12 months.
“We expect the project to reduce crime and anti-social behavior, and will be asking for businesses to work with us to ensure the maximum coverage is achieved.”
Andy Watson, CDA Solutions, added: “The system incorporates the latest High Definition CCTV camera technology and also cutting edge data transmission to get the images from the far reaches of the industrial estate to a central recording server.
“This will ensure the recordings of any criminal activities or unscrupulous behavior will be available for the police to investigate further.
“A lot of work has already gone in behind the scenes by Newham BID to get this project to where it is now and we are very excited to be able to put our skills to good use on a local project.”
