Last year's Cornwall Tourism Summit

Following on from successful Tourism Summits in previous years, Visit Cornwall is launching its first ever Tourism Week.

Taking place next week (March 8-12) via webinar, the week-long free programme will have both morning sessions as well as afternoon guest speaker slots with speakers from across the visitor economy.

Confirmed speakers include Bernard Donoghue, chair of the Tourism Alliance and co-chair of the London Tourism Recovery Board, who will provide his valued insight into the national scene, both political and regulatory. Rob Edlin from Niddocks will be giving an insight into Google trends and developments for 2021 and beyond.

Delegates will also see a presentation from Visit Cornwall CEO, Malcolm Bell, on the future of the Visitor economy to 2030 and beyond.

This review, commissioned by the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly LEP, delves into the post Covid world of tourism with discussions taking place across the industry, higher education research and local and national Government to develop a sustainable tourism strategy for Cornwall

Bell said: “The last 12 months has been such a challenging year for everyone, especially tourism and hospitality businesses in Cornwall. Now that we know the roadmap for coming out of Lockdown 3, the week of webinars will enable businesses to review the challenges and opportunities for 2021, and equally important the future trends over the next decade.”
