The Rick Stein Group welcomed more than 5,000 diners to its restaurants over the weekend.

It served 5,046 guests at the ten restaurants which reopend on Saturday (July 4), including the flagship Seafood Restaurant in Padstow.

It also reported 717 retail transactions from four outlets including Stein’s Gift Shop, Deli, Fishmongers and Patisserie.

Chef director, Jack Stein, said: “It was such a buzz being back in the kitchen this weekend. We’re really happy with how it went, our customers all respected social distancing and were clearly as happy to be back as we were. Safety was our number one priority and our new measures, from one way systems and table spacing to adding new fully sterilised and sealed cutlery pouches to every table, proved to be a great success.”

Charlie Stein, wine & spirit advisor, added: “Bookings are looking good for the remainder of the summer season, however we’re not naive enough to think the next few months will be plain sailing. To those people who can no longer go abroad for their usual summer holiday, we would love to welcome you down in Cornwall.”

  1. But why did you close the Porthlevern branch and yet keep all locations in Padstow. Not all your customers are holiday makers. Come on Rick acknowledge those of us that live here in Cornwall (all year round) and like to eat out!!!
