Visit Cornwall has been ranked #1 in the English Tourism Social Media Index, an annual league table which grades 129 regional tourism bodies in England according to social media performance by their official channels.
Produced by social media agency, Umpf, in association with HolidayLettings.co.uk, the Index praises Visit Cornwall for its engagement and fan growth on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as its rich content strategy.
The Index is compiled by measuring the social media performance of each tourism body. Visit Cornwall attained one of the best data scores with top marks for engagement and fan growth on Facebook and Twitter. The organisation was also one of only a handful of tourist bodies who secured no red flags for replication of content, spelling or grammar mistakes, hashtags or periods of inactivity.
Visit Cornwall marketing manager, Lowenna Pascoe, said: “We’re delighted to be recognised as the leading tourism body in the UK for our social media communications, and take the top spot this year. Moving from second in 2015 to the top spot this year is testament to our continued investment in social media.”
