The first package holidays for German visitors to the Isles of Scilly have been launched.
It is an initiative from Truro-based marketing company, Urlaub Cornwall, and the German tour operator, Thoba Reisen.
Announcing the new venture, Urlaub Cornwall MD, Niall MacDougall, said: “Having organised a number of holidays on Scilly for German clients in recent years we knew there were still barriers to converting more of our enquiries in to actual bookings.
“The uncertainty around the logistics of getting to the islands plays a part, as well as the additional transport costs themselves.”
The package holidays include travel to Scilly and a range of accommodation, initially with the option of flights into Bristol as the starting point.
MacDougall continued: “These products are being offered at a guaranteed price in euros for the 2016 season giving clarity on cost to clients and security as packages are backed by a fully bonded German travel company.
“Over the next two months, we’ll roll out new holidays targeting the long and short stay markets for Scilly. Promoting them via both companies’ websites means we’ll be able to expose the products to an audience of at least 500,000 online visitors a year.”
