Visitors from Germany, Switzerland and Austria make up 40% of all overseas visitors to Cornwall. Already number one for holidays, the site’s offering is being extended to further take advantage of this great interest all things Cornish.

Niall MacDougall, founder of UrlaubCornwall, said: “The aim of our new ‘Made in Cornwall’ section is to give businesses in Cornwall the chance to reach out to this huge market of over 100 million German speakers.

“Our plan when starting UrlaubCornwall was to make it the face of Cornwall in Germany by showing the best that’s on offer here. Using the high visibility and number of visits our site receives, we want to promote businesses with specifically Cornish products that draw on the culture, landscape or ingredients that Cornwall is famous for.

“It makes perfect sense for Cornish businesses to benefit from the Rosamunde Pilcher phenomenon, not just when Germans are on holiday here, but also when they go home.”
