UK beach-goers are being invited to take part in a new survey looking at how the nation’s beaches are being used.
The survey has been commissioned by watersports website Sitons.com, and was the brainchild of its founder Mat Bennett.
Bennett said: “As a keen kayaker, I’m privilege to a view of our beaches that many people don’t get to enjoy.
“Paddling along our coasts it is clear that the way our beaches are used is changing rapidly, both in terms of the activities that people take part in and the facilities that are being provided for them. As a data-guy I wanted to measure this and make that information available to others.”
The survey asks a few key questions covering how and why the participant last visited a beach. Information gathered will also be used to build up a map of the UK’s favourite beaches and what it is about those beaches that people love.
To drive participation, Sitons.com has partnered with UK Kayak Manufacturer Perception, which has donated a £350 Perception Scooter Sit-on kayak as a prize that every person who completes the survey will be entered in to a draw to win.
Entries close on August 15.
The survey is open to all UK residents and can be completed by clicking here.
