Entries have now opened for the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2013.
To reflect the industry and to encourage more entries, a number of changes have been made to the awards programme which is now in its 12th year and covers 18 award categories.
As well as a new ‘Holiday Village, Resort or Self Catering Complex of the Year’ category there are now five different attraction categories; Arts, Museums and Maritime, Gardens, Historic and Heritage Properties and Country Houses, Wildlife & Environmental, and Family Fun & Theme Parks.
The Cornwall Tourism Awards are presented by Visit Cornwall, the Cornwall Development Company tourism service. Malcolm Bell, Head of Visit Cornwall, said: “The Cornwall Tourism Awards play an important role in rewarding the dedication and hard work of the local tourism industry and recognise the contribution made towards key issues such as sustainability, accessibility and staff training and development.
“The updated categories mean there is something for every tourism related business and we hope 2013 is a record year for entries.”
