A new ferry service to link Trelissick Gardens to the Smugglers Cottage has been hailed a success by operators.

Visitors enjoy the ferry trip from Smugglers Cottage to Trelissick Gardens. The service, run by Cornwall Ferries Ltd, is in its first season

The link, which was launched in June, is being run by Cornwall Ferries Ltd, the team behind the King Harry Ferry, St Mawes Ferry, Place Ferry and the Park and Float.

Running until the end of September it is the first time the two popular destinations have been linked directly by waterway.

Toby Budd, marketing manager for Cornwall Ferries, said: “We worked closely with the team at Trelissick and the Smugglers to create this valuable link between the two sites.

“It’s a beautiful part of the Fal River and it’s great that people can enjoy both attractions, as well as the sights of the river, with this simple 10 minute ferry ride.

“The feedback we’ve had from visitors and locals alike has been great and we’re definitely considering running the service again next summer.”

The Smugglers ferry is also part of Fal River Cornwall’s Fal Mussel Card, which runs from Easter to October, and allows visitors to enjoy unlimited ‘hop on, hop off’ travel on buses, trains and ferries during their stay.
