The Rose in Vale Hotel has been awarded four star status following a recent inspection from the AA.

The Rose in Vale hotel

The country house hotel, located in Mithian, near St Agnes, becomes the only four star hotel west of Newquay.

Owner James Evans said it was just reward for all the hard work and investment that had gone into the establishment.

Recalling the time when he bought it six years ago, he remarked: “The Hotel had been somewhat neglected and poorly run in recent times, it was looking rather sad, dated and a bit down on its luck, to coin a phrase ‘faded glory’.

“However, not to be put off, we saw this as a challenge, how could we possibly let such a wonderful place go unloved for any longer?

“One of the key objectives,” he added, “was to achieve four star hotel status and it is a tribute to every single member of our fantastic team, of our wholly local staff, that they have worked so hard with us over the past few years to take a dusty old hotel and transform it into the fantastic establishment that we now have.”
