A new Cornish hotel group has made two key promotions to its senior management team.

(l-r) Kearan McVey and Paul Goodwin

Following the Falmouth-based Greenbank Hotel’s purchase of Alverton Manor in Truro, Kearan McVey has been appointed as operations director for both hotels, while Paul Goodwin has been promoted to hotel manager for the Greenbank.

Having served as general manager of the Greenbank for nearly five years, McVey has now started his new role with the Cornwall Hotel Collection, where he will be responsible for the day-to-day running of both the Greenbank and Alverton Manor.

He will focus on the strategic direction of the two hotels, overseeing the investment and refurbishment projects, as well as the recruitment of senior appointments which is now underway.

He said: “We have invested heavily in the Greenbank over the last ten years and the future plans are to integrate the hotel with its environment – particularly the water.

“At Alverton Manor we are currently finalising a development plan that will enable us to move the hotel from its current three star rating to four, ensuring its position as the leading hotel in Truro.”

Having been promoted from deputy general manager to hotel manager for the Greenbank, Goodwin will be responsible for running the Falmouth hotel, overseeing sales, marketing and operations development, whilst managing the heads of departments.
