British International Helicopters (BIH) is set to publish plans to establish a new base in St Erth.
With an agreement in place to sell its Penzance heliport site to Sainsbury’s, and hopes to switch to Land’s End airport dashed last year, a move to Newquay airport had been suggested.
However, BIH has confirmed St Erth as its preferred location for its service to the Isles of Scilly, with the advantages of the A30 and main line rail links close by.
Plans for the new heliport should be available at the end of July.
