A St Mary’s hotel restaurant has become the first on the Isles of Scilly to join the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).
Spirit at St Mary’s Hall Hotel joins only two other restaurants in Cornwall to become members of the SRA, the nationwide not-for-profit association which was launched last year.
Clifford Freeman, owner of St Mary’s Hall Hotel said: “From day one, food provenance and sustainability has been extremely important to us, and we are always looking at ways in which we can improve sustainability.”
Mark Linehan, MD of the SRA said: “We’re delighted to welcome Spirit as our most westerly member. Consumers have told us that they want restaurants to be more sustainable, so it makes business sense for restaurants to meet that demand.”
