Cornwall Development Company (CDC) has announced contingency plans for the Falmouth Tourist Information Centre (TIC) which was badly damaged during the recent wet weather.

The facility, at Prince of Wales Pier, suffered severe flood damage and the office has been temporarily closed for repairs.

The TIC, which just days ago was shortlisted as a finalist in the Tourist Information Centre of the Year category of the Cornwall Tourism Awards, will need thorough cleaning and drying before the full extent of the damage can be assessed and repairs undertaken.

CDC is working with Cornwall Council and Falmouth Town Council to identify temporary premises to relocate the facility as soon as possible. It is hoped this will be achieved in the early part of this week.

In the interim, all telephone calls, emails and information requests are being diverted and fulfilled using the VisitCornwall tourism services within CDC.
