The number of passengers travelling through Newquay Airport continues to grow, according to latest figures.

More than 71,000 passengers passed through the airport between April and June of this year, up 26% on the same period last year.

The rise is being attributed to more people using the London Gatwick service, as well as an increase in scheduled flights to and from Manchester and Birmingham.

Airport MD, Al Titterington, said: “Passenger numbers continue to grow month on month, a trend which we expect to continue throughout the summer.

“We continue to work really hard with airlines to ensure routes and passengers continue to grow now and in the future.”
