With lockdown restrictions easing and the bunting up, there’s a sense of celebration in Camborne.

BID Camborne chair Sharron Lipscombe-Manley, who also runs a delicatessen in the town centre, says it’s milestone moment.

“It’s a huge step forward for the success of our high street and something that many people have been waiting for. We do understand, though, that whilst it’s wonderful to return to more normality, it’s still very important to remain respectful about people’s right to wear masks and maintain social distance.

“The virus hasn’t disappeared and businesses and individuals will have varying opinions on what safeguards continue to be advisable.”

To underline Camborne’s festive summer approach, weekly ‘Fun Fridays’ are being introduced from July 30 through to September 3.

“We have arranged some fantastic entertainment on those days to help encourage people back into the town centre,” said BID Camborne manager Anna Pascoe.

“The line-up includes characters wandering through the town balloon modelling, foraging walks, live performances from the Jumping Out Duo and Story Republic, a very special guest appearance from Elsa in Frozen and opportunities to take part in craft and dancing workshops.

“There really is something for everyone.”
