A Cornish surf wear company has acquired new warehousing to keep up with the rising tide of orders.

Finisterre is a specialist cold water clothing brand based in St Agnes. It has grown steadily since it was founded by Tom Kay in 2003 and now has retail branches in St Agnes, Falmouth, Braunton in Devon, and Covent Garden in London and this month will be opening a new store in Bristol.

The firm’s warehouse was its headquarters at Wheal Kitty in St Agnes, but in order to accommodate a rising number of orders Finisterre has now taken the lease on larger warehouse premises at a unit at Carn Brea business Park.

The lease for the unit at Carn Brea was negotiated by chartered surveyor Miller Commercial. Head of agency, Mike Nightingale, said: “It’s great to be able to help facilitate the growth of a successful Cornish Company.

“The right premises are a fundamental factor in the success of a business and I would hope that Finisterre will follow the trajectory of many leading South West clothing brands, and that in the future Tom comes to us again looking for even larger warehouse space.”
