A Camborne bar’s decision to now serve food has been applauded by the town’s Business Improvement District (BID).

Cafe Soul, which opened in Cross Street just before Christmas, has introduced a new lunchtime menu with plans to extend serving hours into the evening.

Owner Jon Stoneman wanted to create something different, a bar with a Mediterranean atmosphere that stood out from the rest but with affordable prices.

“This is exactly the kind of new business we need in the town,” said BID Camborne manager, Mel Martin.

“It’s filling a gap in the market and attracting people throughout the day – whether they’re popping in for a coffee and cake to break up a shopping trip or going out for an evening of live music. The feedback we’re getting is very positive.”

Stoneman explained: “Until now we’ve concentrated on building up our drinks trade but feel the time is right to branch out and offer a light selection of lunchtime food.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what the future brings and watching the bar reach its full potential.”
