Shop windows in Liskeard are undergoing a makeover this week with the help of visual marketing experts.

The project, which is being carried out by VMDesign, aims to help business owners find innovative ways to draw in passing customers by enhancing their window displays.

Michele Laouenan, from The Book Shop, came up with the idea and said: “A window is the first contact with passing shoppers and it is so important, not only to promote one’s own goods well, but also to project an attractive image for the town.

“Kevin and his team (from VMDesign) have worked with businesses both large and small across the UK, including concessions in London department stores, so we are very pleased to have them agree to work with the Town Team to run this project.”

The initiative is one of several ideas being organised by the Town Team, due to Liskeard being one of a dozen Portas Pilot towns that have been awarded Government grant funding to help transform their local high streets.
