The company will move into the former Emporium shop next to the car park on Bohella Road.

Fat Face’s lease to rent the building was negotiated by Miller Commercial on behalf of the Emporium’s owner, John Baddcock.

Baddcock has run the Emporium together with his wife for 23 years but is now retiring.

He said: “I would like to pay tribute to our loyal customers over the years. While it’s a pity St Mawes is losing an independent shop, I’m sure Fat Face will prove an asset to the village and I see the company is already advertising in the window for shop staff.”

The St Mawes store will be Fat Face’s seventh Cornish outlet. It has 200 nationwide.
