D-Day for KFC in Falmouth

The future of the KFC restaurant and 30 jobs in Falmouth is under threat, Business Cornwall understands.

KFC opened its doors in Falmouth last summer, but does not have a takeaway licence and can currently only serve food to be consumed on the premises.

Despite widespread favour in Falmouth, the Council planning officer involved is believed to be recommending the refusal of it being granted a takeaway licence, which could lead to KFC pulling out of the town.

Following a site visit yesterday, a decision on the application will be made at a planning meeting to be held in St Austell next Wednesday (August 3).
