A young entrepreneur from Bodmin is on a mission to help women find underwear that fits by launching a new shop and revamped website.
Michèle Poynter is opening a new lingerie boutique – Mish – in Bodmin as well as redeveloping her website, mish-online.co.uk.
She was inspired to launch her business after struggling herself to find underwear that fits properly. She explained: “Recent research suggests over 85% of ladies are wearing the wrong bra size and this is no surprise when the UK average size is a 34DD and many shop only stock up to a D cup.
“I wanted to offer a large range of pretty, elegant bras which are also comfortable.
“We offer a full bra fitting service which is tailored to our customers needs and never use a measuring tape as this often gives inaccurate results.”
She started her business by selling underwear online via an auction website, specialising in hard-to-find sizes and discontinued designs.
With several years experience now under her belt, Poynter worked with Cornwall-based designer Rose Robinson of Ki design in Helston to develop a brand and fresh website design.
She has also received support from Unlocking Cornish Potential’s graduate start-up programme.
Mish opens its doors for business next week (January 12).
