Paralympian table tennis player Dave Wetherill has launched the Cornwall Card at Newquay Trampoline and Play Park.

Busy with final preparations before travelling to Tokyo, the Torpoint-based athlete joined GLL head of service James Curry, Councillor Richard Pears and centre manager Chris Perry at the facility which first opened its doors to the public in July 2019.

Free to residents until the end of August, the Cornwall Card offers up to 20% off non-member prices at all Better leisure centres in Cornwall.

GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that operates under the Better brand and runs centres throughout the county on behalf of Cornwall Council.

Curry said: “At a time when the health and wellbeing of everyone in Cornwall is so important, we are delighted to be launching this discount card for local people of all ages. With the school holidays fast approaching, 20% off a swim, gym, or trampolining session should be very appealing to the communities we support.”

To apply, visit www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/cornwall or when visiting a centre. From September 1, cards will cost £20 per adult and £10 per child.
