Business in Cornwall are being urged to sign up with a new service launched this week, that brings together information in one place to help them identify the right business support for them.

The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, a new support initiative for businesses, is one of the first projects to go live from the new Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Programme.

The Hub has been created in response to a common issue raised by businesses – that the range and complexity of business support available at a local and national level is far too confusing and time-consuming to navigate.

The Growth Hub will provide local businesses with a single point for accessing an extensive range of information and support they need to start or grow their business.

At its core, the Growth Hub will act as a signposting and brokerage service, with information on how to set up a new business through to help with exports and access to finance.

To celebrate the launch, the Growth Hub held two events yesterday (May 9) at the start of Cornwall Business Week, to raise awareness and encourage businesses to register with the new service.

2 - Debate

The first was a debate on the challenges to business growth and featured decision makers and influencers alongside representatives from the business community.

The debate was followed by a networking reception where more than 100 businesses had a chance to meet the team and discuss the services available to help them grow.

The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub is part funded by £2,435,909 from the European Regional Development Fund and is match funded by Cornwall Council, the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership.

The Growth Hub is delivered by Cornwall Development Company.
